Orington provides capital to ultimately fund the expenses of running cases, including but not limited to lawyers' fees, disbursements, expert witnesses and court or arbitration fees. In return we share in the award or settlement on case success only, all on a non-recourse basis.
This asset class has minimal correlation exposure to the market. We expect to generate strong internal rate of returns (IRRs) accustomed to or better than Venture Capital but with higher rates of individual investment success. Reputable litigation funders and law firms have "at-risk" track records of 70-90% success, resulting from favorable adjudications at trial or net positive settlements.

- Conduct investment management due diligence in order to back litigation funders and law firms with the best teams, track records and investment and legal process.
- Integrate dedicated portfolio management to manage risk, investment return lumpiness, illiquidity normally associated with the industry by investing across listed and unlisted markets, up and down the capital structure and via direct and indirect opportunities.
